You couldn't begin to. Now spillit. What's going on? What's her game?
Chace begins to walk away.
106.
GETTY (CONT'D) Don't forget, Chace. I have a contract. And I'll enforce it.
CHACE:
I don't think so.
GETTY:
Why not?
CHACE:
Because whatever personal security youpresently enjoy comes from me. Those Alsatians limping around the pool? Mypeople trained them. Your securitysystem? My people installed it. Your bodyguards? Uh-huh. You're protectedfrom every threat imaginable, unlessthat threat happens to be me.
GETTY:
I suppose this is your way of submitting your resignation.
CHACE:
"Men of risk." Isn't that what youcalled us? "I risk my money, yourisk your life." (laughs) You and me -- we never risked a thingin our lives. We never took the chances ordinary people take. That's why we are what we are now.
Chace turns to go. Getty grabs his arm.
GETTY:
Those children are my blood, Chace.
They were mine. And she took them.
I was left with nothing.
The old man's eyes brim with tears. Chace stares at him, and beyond him, at the palace filled with treasures.
CHACE:
Now you know.
Chace walks away, down the hill, leaving Getty behind. As he walks through the great iron gates, a cool spray from thePacific shimmers through the trees.
Chace walks down to the end of the driveway, puts on hissunglasses, and holds out his thumb to hitch a ride.

(a beat) It was the full ransom. $3.3 million at today's exchange rate. $1.6 billion in lira.
