First and probably my biggest tip about learning to listen better . the idear is that you don't really need to hear every single word to understand well . and I think often what can happen is that when you're listening especially if you have a lower level of English and you're just learning and starting to understand speaking or even you're starting to watch films or series. You maybe in your mind you have this idea that you need to understand everything right - all of the words , omm, but often often that that strategy is is not good, because it's too difficult okay, especially at the beginning, too difficult to try to understand everything.. okay? so you can be smart about how you listen and what you want to do is you want to focus on the important content words. the words really carry a lot of meaning. okay . and . one way that you can do that immediately which is very simple is to actually watch people's body language . because there's been lots of research that shows that people use their bodies to emphasize the important words when they speak and if you watch me , you will notice that I actually use my hands and my head to emphasize those important words,,,okay. and so what you can do is you can watch people and you can only concentrate your listening when people use their bodies to indicate the important words.
